Where the hell are the Pehrinthians?
12.09.2006 - 12.09.2006
Today Matt, Chris and I were off to book our tickets to get to the Pehrenthian Islands. Victoria left for the Cameron Highlands that morning but I made sure I got her e-mail first. We had breakfast and walked to the train station (my first taste of public transport). We got the train to another part of the city to get our coach tickets from the depot. Our coach wasn’t until 9.30pm so we got a taxi back into the city.
We went for dinner at the KL Skytower, the food was delicious but expensive, then went up the Skytower to take some pictures. There were a lot of people there but the view was amazing and we were really, really high up. The tower is on a big hill as it is, so it is already high up before you even get in the lift to the top. It was so high my ears popped.
When we had finished at the tower we went back to the hostel to kill some time and watched ‘Date Movie’. We still had an hour or so, so we went bowling again. The lads had 4 games, I had 2 and went shopping. We then went for a chinese and by the time we had eaten, it was time to go back to the hostel and gets our bags.
We hailed a taxi and made our way to the station. It was really busy but we soon found our coach and settled in at the back. Chris and Matt sat next to each other, I luckily had 2 seats to myself. The journey took 9 hours and none of us got much sleep. The driver had the air con on full and I was freezing. We had a stop off on the way but that didn’t really help break up the journey. Nine hours was a long time.
