A little luxury
24.09.2006 - 24.09.2006
We got up at about 11am this morning, packed up our stuff and left as soon as possible. We had breakfast in the resort restaurant, then found a hotel a bit further up the road. It was a little more expensive but was secure, clean, bugless, had a proper shower and air con and a tv. We threw our stuff in the room and watched some tv. I jumped in the shower, the best shower I have had in ages, and Jennifer went to get waxed. When Jennifer got back we both chilled out and watched a film.
After the film, Jennifer suggested going for a Thai massage. She had seen a small place up the road, so we walked up and saw it was just 300 baht for a head, neck and shoulder massage for an hour. What I didn’t realise is that a Thai massage actually hurts, it is not so relaxing and could never fall asleep during one. Also, even though I had a head, neck and shoulder massage, the Thais like to have the whole body relaxed so it is still virtually and full body massage. It may have hurt but I felt great after it!!
Following the massage we went back into town for some dinner. We found a small trendy bar and had a lovely meal. However, because this is such a touristy place, the prices are a lot higher than the rest of Thailand, so we paid quite a bit for the food, it was still delicious though.
Once we had finished dinner and had a cocktail or two we had a walk about, trying to find a place we could go and watch a movie. There wasn’t anywhere so we were going to rent a DVD player until we remembered we had nowhere to plug it in, in our room. That put an end to that mission and we got a taxi back to the hotel where we were just in time to watch ‘Just Married’ on normal tv. Neither of us saw the end of the film because we fell asleep.
