So far and So GOOD!!

I was up early this morning, my stuff was already packed. I checked out and put my backpack in storage at the hotel until I had to leave for the airport. I then made my way to the Irish pub to meet everyone for breakfast. I was early but didn’t have to wait long until Rob, Jon and Lillie arrived. We all had breakfast together and chatted about what we had been up to since Koh Phangan. Rob, Jon and Lillie had planned to go to see the reclining Buddha that day, and I didn’t have time to go, even though I had already seen it. So I said my Goodbyes, went back to my hotel and sat around for about an hour, then got a taxi to the new airport.

Bangkok Airport had only been open for a week so I got there extra early, as it was supposedly massive. It was!! However, maybe I got there a bit too early. I had to sit around for quite a while before I even checked in.

At check in the queue was quite long and I got talking to a couple who were in front of me. They were Jeremy from N. Ireland and Nadine from S. Wales. As the airport was so new it seemed the staff hadn’t quite got used to the new systems and they had a few difficulties. This delayed us for another hour but I didn’t mind too much because I had people to talk to. Jeremy and Nadine were really nice; we all checked in together, went through immigration and then went to Burger King, before going to our gate. The airport was immaculate, though they were still building in some of it. We sat for about half an hour before the gate was opened and we were led onto the plane and seated.

So that was the end of my trip in Asia – already!!! I had the worst luck during my whole trip and would give anything to go back to the beginning and do it all again. The truth is I am going to be back here as soon as possible! I miss it already!!!! 
